These months offer better trekking conditions, as the trails are less muddy and more accessible.

The wet seasons, from March to May and September to November, bring heavy rainfall, which can make trekking more challenging.

Mgahinga National Park is located about 510 kilometers from Uganda’s capital, Kampala. Here are the most common ways to reach the park:

By Road

The drive from Kampala to Mgahinga takes about 8-10 hours. Most tourists prefer traveling from Kampala via Kabale to Kisoro which is the closest town to the park.

The journey offers scenic views of Uganda’s rolling hills, farmlands, and lakes.

By Air

For a quicker option, there are domestic flights from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro Airstrip located about 14 kilometers from the park.
