Katonga wildlife reserve is home to variety of wildlife, which includes the different species of flora and fauna.
Covering about 210 km in the western part of Uganda near Katonga River, the reserve primarily features other natural beauties like the wetlands, savannah and woodlands where animals like antelopes, waterbucks, reedbucks and zebras live. It also feaures birds for bird lovers.

The reserve is a rich haven for antelopes, rare marsh-dwelling species, reedbucks and waterbucks.
However it lacks large predators and high density game, the reserve hosts zebras, impalas, hippos and otter.

How to access the Katonga Wildlife Reserve
Katonga Wildlife can be accessed by road as its located 270 km from the country’s capital, which can take something like 5-6 hours’ drive.
Using the Fort Portal Kampala Road takes you on a glance of the beautiful scenery of western Uganda and also opts to visit the Katonga border.
