Activities in Serengeti National Park.

Activities in Serengeti National Park.

Serengeti national park is a hub to a number of attractions and many activities in Serengeti national park can be Nature walks, game drives, Hot Air Balloon Safaris, bush meals, visiting the Serengeti Visitor Center, Olduvai Gorge, Ngorongoro Crater, observing the Wildebeest Migration, visiting the Maasai, camping, exploring the Bologonja Springs, Lobo Valley, Moru Kopjes, bird watching, swimming, the Hippo Pool, and Lake Natron are among the main activities in the Serengeti. We will now go over all of them in further depth.

Early morning wildlife drive.

A game drive across Serengeti Park is the best method to see the Big Five and other resident animals.

Animals in the Serengeti are quite busy in the morning and evening. The morning game drive begins at daybreak and ends at 11 a.m.

This allows visitors to see nocturnal creatures withdrawing to their holes/dens or herbivores heading out to graze.

The early game drive is also ideal for spotting hyenas, wild dogs, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hippos as they return from a night of grazing near the pools.

Lions enjoy hunting at night and early in the morning before the sun gets too scorching.

It is vital to understand that afternoon game drives run from 2:00pm until 5:30pm. If you don’t want to miss anything, go for the full-day game drive, which runs from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Nature hikes accompanied by guides

Nature walks are a fantastic opportunity to discover the Serengeti in ways that are not feasible on a normal game drive where you do not follow precise trails.

This permits you to see reptiles, birds, insects, and uncommon flora along the way.

Some hotel establishments organize the majority of nature walks.

You will be led by an armed ranger who is familiar with the park’s various animals.

Hot Air Balloon Safari.

We strongly propose a hot air balloon safari for our visitors to experience a different viewpoint of the enormous Serengeti National Park from thousands of feet above the earth with an aerial view, overlooking the plains and the animals that roam it.

Hot air balloon safaris are especially popular during the wildebeest migration, which allows guests to see hundreds of them. Hot air balloons can carry between 12 and 16 people. You must arrange your tour in advance and expect to pay approximately $500. This adventure provides a bird’s-eye view of the Serengeti plains and Africa’s famous wildlife.

Camping.

Camping in the woods is also a popular activity on a Tanzania wildlife safari in the Serengeti. Your hotel should offer you all of the necessary camping equipment, as well as a chef and armed security. Camping becomes even more interesting when you travel with a group.
Having fun with your group mates while partying beneath the African sky.

Basic tents cost approximately $50 per night, whereas luxury tents can cost up to $900 per night. Whether you choose affordable or a luxury tent, the experience is the same: you will get to sleep in the African wilderness with the wonderful sounds of birds, hungry lions, and anxious herbivores.

Night game drives.

The park is home to 542 known bird species, of which 100 are permanent inhabitants and 11 are endemic to the Serengeti. Migratory birds visit the site from November to April.
They travel all the way from Europe and Northern Africa.

The species to look out for are the big African Ostrich, vultures, Black-headed Heron, D’Arnaud’s barbet, Dark Chanting Goshawk, Decken-Toko Tockus, Grey-breasted spurfowl, Grey-headed sparrow, Purple Grenadier, Red-backed scrub, Rufous-tailed weaver, Secretary birds, the Kori bustard, Variable Sunbird, White-bellied Go-Away Bird, White-crowned Shrike, and Yellow-throated Sand Grouse.

Cultural Tours.

Cultural trips in Serengeti National Park allow you to see the area’s original inhabitants.

This semi-nomadic group has lived in Tanzania and Kenya for millennia.

During your stay, you will be entertained by local dances and theater, learn about Maasai customs, rituals, and traditions, see some of their living quarters, and even buy products manufactured using traditional methods.

When to visit the park.

The Serengeti National Park can be visited all year. However, in order to observe the huge migration, you must arrive at the appropriate time.

The ideal months to observe the migration in the Serengeti are May to June and December to March.
Between May and June, wildebeest can be observed along the River Grumeti. To see the greatest scenery, visit the Southern Plains between December and March.
July to October is also ideal for visiting the northern districts of Kogatende, Lobo, and Loliondo. This is where the wildebeest leave Tanzania and cross the Maraa River to Kenya. The Central Serengeti is unique in that the animals may be observed year-round.
