Overview

This safari will take you to some of Kenya’s top safari spots. Travel south to Amboseli National Park, which is set against the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Naivasha, one of the few freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley, and Masai Mara, Kenya’s most popular park. The combination of game viewing from these three parks is rewarding, with a good chance of seeing the Big Five hunt, making for excellent game viewing.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Nairobi (Travel Day)

Nairobi is a dynamic, bustling city located 1,870 meters above sea level. The center is modern and prosperous, and the services are well organized and effective. Spend the first night in the capital. We’ll invite you to a welcome meal where we’ll give you an overview of your safari. A company representative will pick you up from JKIA and drive you to your hotel, where you will be assisted with your check-in.

Main destination: Nairobi (city).

Day 2-3: Amboseli

After an early breakfast in Nairobi, head south to Amboseli National Park, which is set against the stunning background of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is located in the semi-arid region of the country, where the temperature is typically hot and dry. It is fed by an unending subsurface water source that is filtered through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from Kilimanjaro’s ice cap before flowing into two clear-water springs in the park’s center. Get to your safari camp in time for lunch.

During your two-day stay in Amboseli, take game drives in the afternoon and early morning. One of the most breathtaking views is the vast herds of elephants. The Amboseli elephants may have the oldest and most preserved social structure of any elephant population in Africa.

Day 4: Naivasha

After breakfast, leave Amboseli and head to Naivasha. You will be to your hotel in time for lunch. Visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, where you may walk among zebra, giraffe, and antelopes. Lake Naivasha’s beaches are home to a diverse range of birds, including pelicans, cormorants, and fish eagles.

Return before sunset for dinner and an overnight stay at your safari lodge in Naivasha.

Day 5: Masai Mara

Continue your safari to the Masai Mara, home to the Maasai people. The yearly migration of thousands of wildebeest, gazelles, and zebra takes place in the middle of the year, between July and September. Arrive at the camp in time for lunch, then go for your first game drive in the afternoon. Keep an eye out for Africa’s Big Five and signs of a hunt. Return to your safari camp before nightfall and eat dinner.

Day 6 – Masai Mara.

Start your day with an early breakfast and head out for a morning wildlife drive. Admire the rolling hills, savannah grasslands, and acacia trees. A visit to a rural community will allow you to immerse yourself in Maasai culture. The Masai Mara has an extremely high lion density, with over 500 in over 1,500 square kilometers. Keep an eye out for potential Big Five hunt scenes throughout your game drives. Return to the camp after the afternoon game drive for dinner and an overnight stay on your final night in the Masai Mara.

Day 7: Nairobi (Travel Back)

Have breakfast in the Mara, then go to Nairobi. Take a tour of the Karen Blixen Estate, a former coffee plantation where the author resided for several years and detailed in her novel “Out of Africa.” Enjoy an included lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden. You’ll spend the afternoon shopping before being transferred to the airport for your return trip.
