Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater & Transfer Back to Arusha

We will leave early today for the green highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as one of Africa’s seven natural marvels. Descending a steep walk from the crater rim into the 600-meter-deep caldera, we will pass through several climate zones and see a wonderful diversity of species.

The caldera, a massive old volcano, is home to over 25,000 animals, including the Big Five (lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards), as well as hippos, wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and over 500 bird species.

After an extended safari and a picnic lunch in the crater, we will return to Arusha in the early evening.
