Detailed Itinerary

DAY 01: Drive to Aberdares National Park & Game Viewing

Start the day with a morning pick-up in Nairobi and drive north through scenic landscapes to Aberdares National Park. Your destination is Sweetwaters Tented Camp, a stunning retreat in the heart of Sweetwaters Game Reserve. In the early 70s, the main building served as the residence of Adnan Khashoggi’s ranch manager. The camp features 30 luxurious en-suite tents with breathtaking views of Mount Kenya’s snow-capped peaks.

Set in savannah grasslands dotted with Whistling Thorn shrubs and Acacia trees, Sweetwaters Tented Camp is a true oasis. Guests enjoy a swimming pool, top-tier tented accommodation, and personalized service.

Game drives offer encounters with giraffes, zebras, elands, oryx, waterbucks, gazelles, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, lions, silver-backed jackals, ostriches, hartebeests, baboons, and rhinos. The reserve also boasts hundreds of bird species.

After lunch at the camp, take time to relax before an afternoon visit to the chimpanzee orphanage inside the reserve. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 02: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park with Game Viewing

After breakfast at the lodge, begin an en-route game drive while heading to Lake Nakuru National Park. Stop briefly in Nairobi for lunch before continuing the journey.

Lake Nakuru National Park hosts a diverse range of wildlife, including leopards often seen resting on yellow-barked acacia branches. Lions, buffalos, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs, baboons, and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes also thrive here. White and black rhinos receive special protection within the park.

Arrive in the afternoon and embark on a game drive. Spot Rothschild’s giraffes, leopards, lions, zebras, elands, and waterbucks. The park’s biggest attraction remains its vast population of flamingoes. After an evening game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 03: Drive to Masai Mara with Game Viewing

After breakfast and a short briefing with your driver-guide, set off for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. This breathtaking reserve hosts the annual migration of over a million wildebeest, creating an unforgettable wildlife spectacle.

Arrive at the camp in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon on a game drive, exploring Kenya’s most renowned wildlife reserve. Return to the lodge for campfire cocktails, dinner, and an overnight stay.

DAY 04: Full-Day Game Viewing & Optional Cultural Visit in Masai Mara

DAY 05: Morning Game Drive in Masai Mara & Drive to Lake Victoria, Musoma (Tanzania)

After breakfast at the lodge, drive through local farmlands and communities toward Tanzania. Cross the Kenya-Tanzania border and continue to Musoma Serenity Lodge. In the evening, take a walk and enjoy birdwatching around Lake Victoria before dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 06: Drive from Musoma to Serengeti National Park & Game Viewing

After breakfast, drive northwest toward Serengeti National Park. Travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands and continue into the vast Serengeti plains. Enjoy an afternoon game drive until sunset before heading to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 07: Full-Day Game Drives in Serengeti

Spend the day exploring Serengeti National Park. At sunrise, go on an early game drive to spot big cats like cheetahs, leopards, and lions. Stop for a bush breakfast at 8 AM before continuing the search for more wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch while soaking in the stunning Serengeti scenery. In the afternoon, continue game viewing before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 08: Morning Game Drive in Serengeti & Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

Start the day with a sunrise game drive, then travel toward Ngorongoro Crater. Stop at Retima Hippo Pool to observe hippos and other wildlife. Choose to visit Olduvai Gorge, known for its archaeological discoveries, or stop by a Maasai village to learn about their nomadic culture, singing, and high-jump dances. Arrive at the crater rim in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 09: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration & Drive to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, descend over 600 meters into the crater for a game drive. The crater’s water supply and rich vegetation attract thousands of animals, including wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and elephants. Often called the eighth wonder of the world, Ngorongoro Crater is home to over 25,000 large mammals.

In the afternoon, drive to Tarangire National Park for an evening game drive before dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 10: Full-Day Game Drives in Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, set out for a game drive in Tarangire National Park. With over 500 bird species, the park is a paradise for bird watchers. It also supports more than 30 large herbivore species. The diverse ecosystem includes grassy plains, savannahs, forests, woodlands, lakes, and swamps, each home to different wildlife. Look out for abandoned termite mounds, now serving as shelters for dwarf mongooses. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing the adventure.

End the day with a well-deserved dinner and an overnight stay at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

DAY 11: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
